Just realised that you can't send attachments in private messages.

You can attach an image or video Amazing. Use the buttons at the top left of the message pane. They are the same as the ones for threads.

Is there a spell check facility, please?

Is there a spell check facility, please? Not as such, but words that Proboards thinks are wrong are underlined in red as you are typing your post - it is of course American English though......

It comes up with alternative spellings if you right click on a word which is underlined in red.

Tried to attach a picture today-would not upload and got a message saying "this forum has reached its attachment space limit"-apologies if this has been covered before but am only an occasional visitor so may have missed it.
Nothing wrong with the size of the picture.

Were you trying to load direct to the forum or via photobucket codythedog? Forums have to pay Proboards to have 'on site' storage over their minimum allowance for attachments which is quite small and limited to 1mb per file. It is one of the downsides to Proboards forums, but you can upload to any photo hosting site and link to here, or even from Facebook if you have the image on there.

It was direct but a very small file less than 1mb-will go down the other route tomorrow.

I tried to upload a photo through, 'add attachment' and I got the same message. It was only 348.25kb

I can't check to see if the forum has hit it's allowance of uploads, but from the messages you are getting I assume it has. Perhaps yours is a very teeny one janerowena - no problems if members share from elsewhere on the web though

I'll try another one from my computer.
Same message again and it was only 70kb

So we have an allowance? Who'd have thought it. The meanies!

So how do we overcome this puzzle? Delete some pictures?

I'm not having any problems either, as you can see. But you can only upload pics of less than 1Mb. Did you remember to click insert after you'd uploaded Amazing?

Trying again with exactly the same picture as yesterday- which is 112KB
Nope -and managed to copy the message before it disappeared-which it does very quickly
"Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded"

I just tried to attach a photo that had previously been attached successfully and it wouldn't take it, I got the same message as Geoff.
How much would it cost to upgrade the forum, Piggin?

It could be that the successful uploads used up the titchy last bit of the allowance-I saved Miss Piggins pic which is 36 kb and tried to upload to the site and got the same message just now. I think I broke your site

Would it make a difference if we deleted compost heap threads, would they be in our allowance?

I don't know, but it wouldn't be a one off payment it would be a subscription. Much cheaper to upload your pics to Photobucket and thence to here.

I just checked on the help forum and it says that we only have a 200MB free allowance but that creating links to photobucket does not count against our allowance.

Deleting the threads in the compost heap wouldn't make any difference either, as most of them were created before we moved to V5, so therefore are all Photobucket pics.

Have managed to resurrect Photobugger. Put 4 photos of the garden on the garden thread.

What's the betting that photo bigger, as amazing so eloquently calls them, go and change yet again to something even less navigable?
