Some of the things listed seem more than a little unnecessary for us Tappers ;D, and I'm not sure I understand all of them . I imagine they're trying to keep up with the Facebook & Twitter generation Being able to post images direct from the web will be useful & time-saving I expect.

I'm not reading up about it just yet, so don't ask me until after the summer!

If you check out your profile, you will see that you can do all sorts of things to personalise it, including adding your own smilies. Have a play!

I'm in at last, but even though I always used 'inprivate' so had to log in and out every time I came on, my password wouldn't work. I tried all sorts of past permutations before I gave in and re-set my password. Even that didn't seem to want to work first time. Some Proboards must have been receiveing a lot of spam memberships. I'm a bit worried that some members who may have the same problems as me may just give up.

Just had a look, and there's an option for a message to be 'saved' every so often so if you're doing a long post it might be useful . Not sure how it works yet

I like the "new" button. It shows me if I have missed any messages.

Is there any way to make people's birthdays a bit more prominent? I'm worried that it won't get noticed.

Proboards have said that they will eventually add 'todays' birthday members names below the home page 'todays birthdays' blue link. They don't see it as a priority though so for now we just have to look at the calendar to see birthdays during the month, or the link to check todays.

I find it annoying that when one clicks on a thread you are taken to the first ever posting when really one wants to go to the last posting.

Jro, there's an option in your Profile where you can opt to save drafts of your posts, so if you lose internet connection or 'navigate away' a little box will come up with your post so far (if that makes sense ).

I like the "new" button. It shows me if I have missed any messages. It's not working properly for me as it's not picking up all the new posts and I'm back to trawling through the individual sections. The 'New Topics' on the old board worked fine

If yo have a look at the Proboards support board, you can see what they are currently being asked and whether these things are possible. Also have a look at the plug ins, there's a vast library of them.

Once you have already done it, when you click on "new" again, it will take you to the new posts. That does not really help when you only want to go to a thread once, to answer that particular thread. And clicking on another Box is just the same as clicking on the last number on the list of postings in a thread.

The lack of the 'new topics' button is my biggest gripe. I have only just found, by going on to each board, that I missed loads of posts. I really miss being able to just work my way up a list of threads whether or not I had posted on them. I haven't been on to the proboard forums yet, I just can't face it, do the other boards feel the same?
The other thing that is missing, although not as important, is the 'show last 30/40 whatever posts' feature. That would have helped, it was very useful if you couldn't remember what thread you had posted something on and were in a hurry.

Jane if you go to the bottom of the home page, you will see a box about threads and posts. You can click on recent threads, or recent posts.

Taking a bit of time to get used to everything - most of it's there but slightly different.
Have to get used to clicking first on the various forum sections before clicking on the e.g. " 2 minutes ago" part to get the latest message - on the old version one could click straight away.
But I like the way the "new post" is quite heavily coloured - easier to see if there has been a new post on something one has been following. I don't do notifications by e-mail etc because that would clutter my e-mail box badly, so this is handy.
Annoyed at the size of the letters though - the old pro boards was perfect for me, now I have to increase the size after logging in - is there somewhere where i can adjust this in the profiles on this board?

The 'New Topics' on the old board worked fine Have you tried the "participated" button on the top right hand side of the screen? This is where I have been looking for new posts. I've found it really handy. I also like the black arrow button which we now have on the right hand side of each page to take us back to the top of the page.

Jane if you go to the bottom of the home page, you will see a box about threads and posts. You can click on recent threads, or recent posts. I think I have just added a link to the Recently Updated Threads in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
