I've had to fire-up my old laptop because every time I try to open TAPS on my iPad, a porn pop-up appears and last time I tried, i was redirected to an advert for an iPad porn 'app'. It doesn't happen on an iPod or on this laptop and I can open other things on my iPad with no problems. I don't know if it's a Proboards problem. Any ideas?

Works ok on mine. Are you using the app or accessing through safari? Does that make a difference?

I'm accessing through safari, but I also tried searching for TAPS thro google, then clicking on it, and the same thing happened. GRR!

I wonder if changing your password on here would help?

Yep, that's one of the ones I get. I was hopeful about your idea JRo so i just tried signing out and viewing TAPS as a guest. I browsed a couple of threads fine, then the page was replaced by explicit 'Juicy slags' So I don't think password will help. Must be a proboard/iPad problem. Anyone know how i let proboards know?

Sounds like exactly the same problem Lou i did uninstalll TAPS, then start again- that didn't work. Fortunately it went away without me contacting proboards, presumably someone else did! It was only a prob on my iPad, not the laptop. Very narsty!!

I did read that the latest hacking target was peoples phones. It's nothing to do with the sites, it's your phone that is being targetted because they are not protected in the same way. It would be like buying a computer and not installing any anti-virus software. I think maybe you need to google and see what is available out there.

I think that's prob true, but was strange that it only happened when accessing TAPS for me, never any other sites. I wonder if people who do online banking, shopping etc using their phone are more at risk then. People make a big effort to use antivirus on the laptop, then link other hardware to it... Hmm, another thing to worry about

Only happens on taps for me too, I use another proboards forum but no problem there. I use my phone for shopping and paying bills but always through secured sites. Have just trawled the App Store but can't find any norton/security stuff for iPhones.

No, I heard they are only just starting to develop it.
I think Proboards must have a virus that computers can sort out but phones can't.

Well it will be very lively if you get all that stuff on it. If you don't have problems with your phone, and you use that a lot, then maybe you will be fine with the ipad.

So far so good on Fluffy the iPad . Well I had to give it a name. GOH has decided to call his 'slasher' ;D I notice that I get the same add, for Dell computers, a lot, so maybe it just blocks other stuff.
