Worth changing your password on their site, just in case.

Think this is a scam. Keep getting Emails which say that I am about to delete all our contacts. I ain't. I have a feeling that Backing them up via the scam would let them access my contact list. If you get this one try saving all your Contacts via Select All. Copy. Paste into Word pad.just in case.

Here's another one - a couple of people I know have had texts saying something like "Hi Mum, dropped my phone down the loo, save this as my new number" - which they knew perfectly well was a scam as they are not parents. Might be quite convincing if you are a parent though.

Perhaps we all need to have a word we use as a proof of who we are!

How To Report Phishing If you got a phishing email or text message, report it. The information you give helps fight scammers. If you got a phishing email, forward it to the Anti-Phishing Working Group at reportphishing@apwg.org . If you got a phishing text message, forward it to SPAM (7726). Might be quite convincing if you are a parent though. I had that a while ago Juliet....I was convinced it was from Jack...I really was for a while, but after some iffy requests for money & lots of questions from me (including ringing his 'old' number) ...turns out it was a scam. Some of these scammers are very clever

So few people have my mobile number if my phone doesn't recognise it, I know it's iffy, though I know folk can type in randome numbers in hope of getting a response.

We have had over 100 scam emails today. Mostly from America.

Good grief! Do you find that your scam emails sometimes end up in the inbox rather than the junk mail? I had several on a daily basis recently, it seems to go through periods of doing that. Annoying.

So far, no. Nothing untoward in the Inbox. Number of Scam emails has dropped considerably today, perhaps they only work during the week. Obviously our address has been hacked. I have changed the password though. The sad thing is that we cannot change our email address without her losing money from the surveys that she does. They are tied to that specific email address.

Had well over 100 spam emails today. Mostly from America. Mostly parcel delivery stuff and enhancement offers. We have nothing on order and enlargement of anything would be a waste of time for us.

PayPal phishing email this morning, Very realistic. Knew it was wrong as we do not have a PayPal account. Watch out, it really did look legit.

I had an email rom Amazon this morning, a warning of scams, so be aware. Always check your Amazon account via their web site to check on orders, never click on links in emails.

Not a scam but we've had warnings from the local police that older people are being targeted in town. Followed from the banks, purses snatched or wallets stolen. Scary times. Need more police on foot patrol rather than in cars.

Need more police on foot patrol rather than in cars. Strange thing though....often heard sirens (presumably police) around Kidderminster.....don't actually hear many lately, but very much doubt they're on foot patrol

Moms our local force has said it will increase foot patrols in the town centre, especially in the run up to Christmas. Not that there are that many shops left to buy from in the High St!

This one was actually addressed to me by name and purported to come from an acquaintance. Only realised it was a scam because the person concerned would never have asked me to do such a thing. Reported it to reportphishing@apwg.org.

Names end up on lists that get passed between scammers well, bought and sold really. Mostly these days scams are either phone calls, or emails. don't think we have had any postal scams here. I wonder how the connection was discovered between you though, seems very odd.

The Sedum Society email account was hacked so the scammer got my name from that. Suspicious as I gave up membership a few years back when we were cutting back on expenses, so I checked with the society president.

Had this one today. So very not true.
Good day. Your system has been hacked with a Trojan virus. It has penetrated your device through adult portals which you sometimes visit. Some spicy videos contain malicious code that activates after being turned on. Your entire information has already been copied to my servers.
I possess complete control over your device which you use to access the Internet. I can see your screen, I can use a microphone and a camera in a way that you never notice anything.
I've already made a screen recording. A video was edited with a pornographic movie that you were watching at that time and masturbating. Your face is perfectly visible and I don’t think that this kind of content will have a positive impact on your reputation.
I have an overall access to your list of contacts and the social media profiles. I can send this video from your E-mail or the messengers.
If you don't want to let this happen, then you only need to take one simple step. Just transfer 1200 USD (US dollars) to Bitcoin wallet: bc1qqsm0xsdr40awd5hyp5ncm95fyshtpvt9zqnxc9
(In a Bitcoin equivalent at the exchange rate for the time of transfer) You can find the detailed instructions in Google.
After the payment I will remove the video and the virus from your device and no one will bother you anymore. If I won’t receive the payment in due time, all of your data and the videos will become publicly available.
I give you 2 business days.
I shall receive a notification that you have read the letter. The timer starts immediately. Any complain somewhere, including the police, is useless. My wallet and an E-mail cannot be tracked.
If I find out that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will become publicly available at once. I will destroy your reputation forever and all your data will go public.
Everyone will learn about your passion for the porn sites and more. Changing the passwords will be useless either as all the data is already on my servers.
Don't forget that reputation is very important and be prudent!

Bit difficult as a. we do not have a camera attached to our computer and b. I have never actually been on a porn website (only gardening porn) and c.1200 dollars is more than my pocket money for the year.

Already have, but I think it was an American posting. Someone in the USA has a very similar Email address to ours, and we get a lot of American based spam. I would change the address, but it would mean altering so many things that it is not worth the effort.

Strange phone call. Very subcontinental voice asked if I was the person who paid the phone bill. So I said 'No' which is true and put the phone down. Odd, the call number was from Lynton in Devon. Definitely an attempt at a scam.
